Are Your Headlights Dirty Or Dying? Here’s How To Tell.

Image

Have you noticed that your headlights are not as bright as they once were? That’s alright, it’s very common. But the one thing we have to figure out is if your headlights are just dirty or if they were dying. And going into darker times of the year, it is important that you can see clearly at night and early mornings. This week, we are going to help you decipher which of the two are happening to your headlights and how to fix the issue!

The easiest and quickest fix is to give your headlights a good cleaning. There are plenty of cleaning kits on the market or DIY ways for you to clean your headlights properly. Once your headlights are clean, there should be a clear, clean look to them. If your headlights look foggy, there might be moisture trapped inside your headlight(s). Again, there are plenty of DIY ways to reduce or get rid of the fog inside your headlight. If you prefer to have your headlights replaced, that is a good option to ensure this problem doesn’t continue to happen.

If your headlights continue to look dim after cleaning, replacing, or reconditioning – there may be an issue within your system or the bulbs. Our first recommendation is to replace the bulbs. Often times, you might just need a fresh new set of bulbs to light up the dark roads. You can upgrade to LED capsules or even HID’s to give yourself a better, brighter view.

Once you’ve cleaned your headlights and replaced the bulbs, you should have solved the problem. But, if you notice that your headlights still are a bit dim, there may be internal issues going on within your vehicle. A simple service appointment can diagnose any issues that may be happening and can solve the issue of your dying or dim headlights. If you notice any issues like these, it is a great idea to be proactive and make a service appointment to ensure that you prevent any major issues from happening.
