Image

Texting and driving is a bad habit, one that you should’ve never let creep into your life. This week we are telling you exactly WHY it is a bad habit, the effects, and what can happen if you are caught doing so. Take a look and be smart moving forward in 2019 – we have faith that you can do good and be good!

Texting and driving is especially dangerous because it affects all types of driving including:

  • Visual: taking your eyes off the road
  • Manual: taking your hands off the wheel
  • Cognitive: taking your focus away from driving

In just 5 seconds, you can travel the length of a football field when traveling 55 MPH. That’s a long way to travel without your total focus on the road ahead. Can you imagine being blindfolded traveling at 55 MPH? No – me neither. But that is essentially what you are doing if you choose to text and drive when you’re behind the wheel.

We know that many drivers prefer to communicate via text message but texting and driving is a bad habit that can and will lead to tragic incidents. And, if you’re caught doing so you can suffer the following:

  • Hefty fines
  • License suspension
  • A rise in auto insurance rates
  • Potential prison time

So, we say use these tips to break those bad habits and be smart when you’re behind the wheel!
