Your Guide To Organizing Your Ride!

Spring is here and it’s time to organize your Ford. Whether you like it or not – your vehicle is not a second closet for all of your belongings and this week we are bringing you our guide on how to organize your vehicle in a pain-free, little to no time manner. Check it out below and let’s get started on your vehicle because time is running out and we know you want to be out exploring not cleaning your vehicle!

Always start with a clean slate.

  • It’s time to get rid of all of the junk that has made your vehicle it’s home. And while emptying out your vehicle, create two piles. One for trash and one for items you plan to keep. If you haven’t used certain items in more than three months, it may be time to part ways and clean out your clutter. (This rule can also apply to your home clutter)
  • Once you are finished, look at your keep pile and decide which items can live in your vehicle and which ones need a new home. If you need help deciding on what to keep in your car, choose items like an emergency kit, a blanket, bottled water, windshield washer fluid. Think about items that you would need in case of an emergency and keep those items on hand and ready to use when you need them.

Now that your vehicle is empty, spend some time cleaning it and showing it a little TLC.

It’s time to organize

  • For items like windshield washer fluid, oils, other objects that have a tendency to roll around your trunk, use a shower caddy to keep them organized and upright to prevent spilling all over your trunk.
  • If you have children with a lot of miscellaneous items, try using a small tote to keep all those items in a central location.
  • You can also use a cargo organizer designed specifically for the trunk of a vehicle.
  • If you’re looking to keep your groceries organized, try using hooks designed for doors or hangers to help keep squishable items off the floor.
  • Your glove compartment is known for acting as an exploding filing cabinet. Keep all your important information and documents together in an expandable, tabbed folder. This will create more space in your glove compartment plus, it will keep the important things organized and easily accessible, in case you ever need them.

Keep the trash to a minimum

  • Get yourself a portable trash can or use something as simple as a grocery bag. No one wants to find old, nasty wrappers or french fries on the floor. Designate a plastic bag and location to dump your trash when you’re out on the road.
